Climbing the Walls

I'm officially a sucky blogger, my apologies to anyone who still bothers to check this excuse for a blog. I still read everyone elses and comment when I have something to say, but wow, I'm doing a pitiful job of tracking this pregnancy and Exposing the North as I have pledged to do! Hold on faithful readers, I will make a come back eventually, until then you will have to be happy with a meager post or two a month...pathetic!

On the baby front, I am conviced of two things:

1. This baby is a BOY! Don't ask how I know, no it's not official, but I think I have a Mother's instinct on this one. Possibly because Blaze (as my Mom has taken to calling the baby...that's a whole other story) is incredibly, astoudingly, active. If I stop long enough at work to think about Blaze and pay attention to what he (or she, let's be fair) is doing, there will be movement. Either Blaze is not sleeping, or moves even in the deepest of sleeps. I don't mind it except for when I'm trying to fall asleep at night and instead I'm being treated to summersault show. Blaze moves, kicks and punches so much that I fret when there is silence...let the parenting worries begin. A friend told me that you start worrying the second you find out you're pregnant..about miscarriage, health, etc. and you pretty much never stop because once the baby arrives safely you have a fresh new set of worries to get you through each and every day. which brings me to pregnancy conviction number#2:

I am convinced that this baby is coming early...is this hormonal craziness? I cannot imagine my stomach getting much bigger and I truly feel like the baby wants OUT. Yesterday morning I was laying in bed (not sleeping, that doesn't happen anymore, just laying) and Blaze was punching the side of my stomach...can we say a little mini Alex in there ready to jump out of the back of pick-up trucks, climb barn silos and runn through glass doors full speed ahead...it makes me tired just thinking about it! Anyway, back to the punching, I can now distinguish between kicks, punches, rolls, and the latest, slightly more creepy feeling...the scraping of fingers! As I was laying there on my right side the baby was up really high on the right side and didn't like the position or something because all of a suddent he punching turned to a SCRAPING, scraping the walls of my uterus with the fingers...creepy! I jumped and screamed at the same time and then started laughing at this little ham of a child making itself so clear. So, I rolled over to a more favored position and day dreamed about all that is to come. What a blessing!
